A Love For Life is an “end of life” (aging-in-place) home. Our goal is to keep our residents in “their” home through the end of life. We work closely with hospice physicians and nurses, and families to keep our residents comfortable through the last phase of life. Our staff is well trained in end of life care and we strive to make this time as peaceful and comfortable as possible.
Philosophy of Hospice Care
- Focus on Patient Comfort and Quality of Life
- Appropriate for people with a terminal illness with life expectancy of 6 months or less
- Goal is to help patients continue an alert pain-free life so their last days can be spent with dignity and quality
Philosophy of Palliative Care
- Focused on relieving symptoms associated with the patient’s condition while receiving active curative treatment
Palliative Care vs. Hospice Care
- What’s the difference between palliative care and hospice care?
- Palliative Care is whole-person care that relieves symptoms of a disease or disorder, whether or not it can be cured
- Hospice Care is a specific type of palliative care for people who likely have 6 months or less to live. In other words, hospice care is always palliative, but not all palliative care is hospice care.
